BioDAF has a state-of-the-art proprietary and patent pending process for the treatment of landfill leachate. Leachates are contaminated with organic and inorganic waste matter resulting in extremely high COD (chemical oxygen demand) levels that require complex treatment.
Our system combines the proven technologies of high-speed ionization (HSI), a physical-chemical clarification process, disinfection, and finally nano-filtration. This process has taken raw water with a COD of 36,000 ppm and cleaned it to a level of less than 60 ppm, which exceeds the requirements of the US EPA.
Technologies and Process

We are able to identify optimized solutions that address regional objectives for environmental safety and compliance. Due to the versatility of the BioDAF Process we can present a solution for the leachate problem generated at landfills worldwide. We deliver water that is safe for reuse at the landfill or it can be safely discharged into the environment.
The process consists of four stages:
High Speed Ionization: Drives up most of TDS into suspended solids including heavy metals and sulfates.
Clarification Process: Removes significant TDS to < 1 NTU turbidity.
Disinfection: Final bacteria elimination to potable (if required).
Final Filtration: Reduce chlorides for re-use or surface discharge (if required).
